Make Smoking History 6DBY King Tide Day supported by Lotterywest
The town of Derby in the West Kimberley boasts of having the highest tide every year in Australia and the second highest tide in the southern hemisphere.
On Saturday May 18th 2019 celebrate a low tide of 1.75 m at 8.14 am and a high tide of 11.28 m at 2.18 pm. A massive rise and fall of over 9.0 m in less than 6 hours, the water moving at upwards of 12 knots !!!
Come and enjoy the festivities being brought to you by Derby Media Aboriginal Corporation (6DBY Radio), Lotterywest, Healthway Make Smoking History and The Boab Festival Committee, Archer Builders, toxfree and the Shire of Derby West Kimberley.
Local bands RAMP AGE, Benning Family Band, The Cruizers and The Mango Mob plus childrens entertainer and the Derby Dance Group performing live on stage.
Wide variety of healthy food and art n` craft stalls, community awards presentation, art auction and introduction of Boab Quest entrants. Heaps of fun and activities for the children.
Event starts at 12.00 pm and will go thru to 5.00 pm.
