The Smarter than Smoking 2014 Bandaral Ngarri Festival supported by Lotterywest is a celebration of Aboriginal culture, music and talent in the Fitzroy Valley Region. Bandaral Ngarri is the Bunuba name for the Paperbark Tree that grows near the mighty Fitzroy River. An offshoot of the Derby Boab Festival, Bandarral Ngarri aims to draw focus to the rich first nation culture of the region.
This year the Festival will occur during NAIDOC week and will celebrate the region’s indigenous and creative culture through art exhibitions, installations, markets showcasing local artisans, footy matches, food stalls, information booths, activities for kids, live music and traditional dance performances.
